The St. Lawrence University men's basketball team opened its 2010-11 season on Tuesday night at Paul Smith's College. The Saints, led by junior Ralph Temgoua and sophomore Nick Meunier, defeated the Bobcats 92-50.

Meunier led St. Lawrence (1-0) with 12 points, while Temgoua added 10. All 14 players on the Saints' roster scored in the contest, including Terry Parham who had nine points, two assists and a team-high four steals.

St. Lawrence used an overpowering first half to take control of the game, 44-22. Leading the way for Paul Smith's was Kris Klinkbeil with 11 points and Devon Carr with 10.

The Saints dominated the boards, owning a 53 to 23 advantage in rebounds, including a game-high seven for first-year student Brandon Rivera. The consistent effort continued throughout the second half, highlighted by an acrobatic dunk by first-year student Janpeter Brase.

The two teams combined for 40 turnovers with both coaches opting to use their full benches early in the season. The Saints high-pressure offense led to 22 Bobcat fouls, allowing the St. Lawrence to shoot 19 of 29 from the free throw line.
