Taylor Digilio, William Montgomery and Alex Black recorded multi-hit games and three players also finished with two RBI, as the St. Lawrence baseball team beat Saint Michael's College 12-7 on Monday afternoon in Fort Myers, Florida for its first win of the season.

St. Lawrence got offensive production up and down the lineup, as eight of the nine players got on base at least twice in the win.

Black, who finished 2-for-4 as the Saints designated hitter on Monday, led the team with two RBI as well as two runs scored. Anthony Butler and Nicholas Butler also drove in a pair of runs for St. Lawrence, while Montgomery, Evan O'Keeffe and Jake Delaney scored a pair of runs each in the win.

Starting pitcher Cameron Morrissey earned the first win of his collegiate career, as the sophomore went 5.2 innings and allowed seven runs on 10 hits with four strikeouts. Junior Louis LaCivita allowed just one hit in 3.1 innings of relief and also struck out four to pick up the save.

The Saints got the bats going early, with three runs in the bottom of the first inning thanks to a two-run triple from Black and an RBI single for Joe DeGuardia in the ensuing at bat.

After the Purple Knights responded with a run in the top of the second to cut the Saints' lead to 3-1, a two-run single by Anthony Butler in the bottom of the frame made it a 5-1 game.

In the bottom of the fourth, St. Lawrence rallied with two outs and added five more runs on just two hits with the help of an error to take a 10-2 lead.

After DeGuardia was hit by a pitch to load the bases, Nicholas Butler drove in Black and O'Keeffe with a single to left field.

Back-to-back walks to Jake Delaney and Brian Comerford brought DeGuardia in to score, before Nicholas Butler and Delaney scored the final runs of the inning, unearned, when the Purple Knights failed to pickoff Comerford at first.

Saint Michael's cut the deficit to 11-7 with five runs on five hits in the top of the sixth, which is when Morrissey exited for LaCivita, but after allowing a two-RBI single to the first batter he faced, LaCivita slammed the door on the Purple Knights and retired the next nine batters in order to preserve the win for St. Lawrence.

Monday's was the first of two games between the Saints and Purple Knights this week, as they'll meet Friday morning for the rematch.
