Castleton, VT – The SUNY Canton women's volleyball team extended its winning streak to eight consecutive matches sweeping a pair of tilts on Saturday at the Castleton State Invitational. The Kangaroos (11-1) downed Green Mountain College, 3-0 (25-8, 25-14, 25-19) before upending host Castleton State, 3-0 (25-10, 25-10, 25-12).

SUNY Canton's tough service game and tight defense forced Green Mountain into some difficult positions as the Roos beat out Green Mountain College 3-0 in non-conference volleyball action on Saturday morning at Spartan Athletic Complex.

SUNY Canton took command of the match from the get go, streaking out to a 15-4 lead in the first set. The Roos would not look back taking the first and second sets convincingly 25-8 and 25-14, respectively.

Green Mountain did not back down despite the 2-0 set deficit as the Eagles rallied in the third set and were ahead 13-12 midway through the set. Canton, however, was too strong for GMC on this day as the Roos battled back and clinched the game and match by taking the third set 25-19.

Leading the way for Canton was junior outside hitter Jessica Reynolds (Oakville, Ontario) who recorded a match-high eight kills. Sophomore middle hitter Morgan Bills (Walworth, NY) supplemented the offense with six kills, while sophomore libero Robyn Carroll (Bowmanville, Ontario) led the defensive effort with a match-high 13 digs in addition to her five service aces.

The Eagles got a solid offensive effort from sophomore middle blocker Hayley Provost who posted a team-high four kills. Junior middle hitter Madison Wage contributed three kills and eight digs, while senior setter Jennifer Seredejko matched that eight dig performance with nine assists.

In its second match of the day the Roos were in control throughout outscoring the hosts 50-20 in the first two sets combined. SUNY Canton floored 29 kills in the first two sets while committing just four errors. The defense was remarkable in the final frame for the Roos as they did not allow a single Spartan kill, while they put down 13 of their own.

Bills proved to be a force offensively finishing with a match-high 12 kills. Lindsay Bryer (Wilson, NY) and Kelsy Cornish (Honeoye, NY) added seven kills apiece, while Mackenzie Mynter (Churchville, NY) assisted on a match-high 32 kills.
