(Clermont, Fla.)- The SUNY Canton softball team continued their spring training schedule in Florida as they lost to Augustana College 8-0 and the University of Michigan-Dearborn 3-1 Wednesday after in Clermont.

In the opening game with Augustana freshman Olivia Blackmore (Madrid, N.Y.) banged out two hits going 2-for-3 at the plate. Sophomore Emiley Walters (Lancaster, N.Y.) went 1-for-3 with a double.

Junior Tina DeLuca (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) allowed six runs on 10 hits with one strikeout in 5 1/3 innings. Junior Jessica Measheaw (Hammond, N.Y.) came on in relief and allowed two runs on two hits in 2/3 innings of work.

Krista Watson led the Vikings with two doubles and two RBIs and Sarah Hintz struck out eight batters in six innings.

The Roos have three more games on their docket down south as they’ll take on Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on March 1 and then wrap up their trip with games against Alma College and Davenport University on March 2.
