(Foxboro, Mass.)- The SUNY Canton men’s ice hockey team lost at Stonehill College 4-2 Saturday night in Foxboro, Mass.
The Roos split with the Skyhawks after winning 2-1 on Friday and SUNY Canton is now 2-3 overall.
Stonehill scored two goals in the first period from Dana Borges and Bill Carey to lead 2-0 after 20 minutes. Freshman Kristian Leach (Indianapolis, Ind.) trimmed the Skyhawks lead in half with his first goal of the season at the 4:34 mark of the second period. Sophomore Bill Ousey (Fairless Hills, Pa.) and freshman Nils Semjonovs (Liepaga, Latavia) assisted on the goal.
The Roos tied the game just 25 seconds into the third period when junior Cory Giczewski (Fountain Valley, Calif.) scored from seniors Corey Frizell (Orleans, Ontario) and John Payne (Port Moody, B.C.).
Stonehill answered with two more goals in the final period to pull out the win.
Freshman Luis Puig (Chicago, Ill.) made 32 saves for the Roos and Chris Tasiopoulos had 27 saves for Stonehill.
The Roos hit the road next weekend for a pair of games at Robert Morris University in Bensenville, Ill.
