(Canton, N.Y.) - Freshman guard Tierney McGlynn (Watervliet, N.Y.) of the women's basketball team has been named the Sunrise Conference Rookie of the Week.
McGlynn is honored is honored for the first time this season after helping the Roos pick up two conference wins during their swing through Vermont last weekend. McGlynn averaged 8.5 points, 4.0 steals, 2.5 assists, and 2.0 rebounds while shooting 53 percent from the floor.
The Watervliet High School graduate dropped in 11 points canning three 3-pointers and had six steals, four assists, and two rebounds in a 79-40 win over the College of St. Joseph. The next day McGlynn scored six points, made two steals and grabbed two rebounds in a 68-48 win over Vermont Technical College.
McGlynn is averaging 4.2 points and 2.7 rebounds in just over 21 minutes per game for the Roos.
