(Randolph, Vt.)- Tony Valentin (Perth Amboy, N.J.) led four Roos’ in double figures with 12 points as the Roos were defeated by Vermont Technical College 80-58 Saturday afternoon in Randolph Center, Vt.
Valentin sank a pair of 3-pointers for SUNY Canton who shot 46 percent from the field and 78 percent from the free throw line.
Silvon John (Bronx, N.Y.) added 11 points and two assists. Khalid Vaughn (New York, N.Y.) and Jajuan Williams (Richlands, N.C.) each scored 10 points. Vaughn added two assists and Williams made three steals for SUNY Canton (0-7 Sunrise Conference, 2-14 overall)
Nick Simpson pumped in 23 points and had three steals to lead Vermont Tech. Kevin Carr added 22 points, seven steals, six rebounds, and five assists.
The Roos will be at home next weekend as they’ll host the University of Maine at Machias on Saturday, Feb. 12 at 8 p.m. and Vermont Tech on Sunday, Feb. 13 at 2 p.m. Both games will be at Clarkson University’s Alumni Gym.
