(Pittsburgh, Pa.)- SUNY Canton dropped both ends of a doubleheader at Carlow University Friday afternoon in Pittsburgh, Pa. as they lost 9-1 and 6-4 to the Celtics.

In the opening game, senior centerfielder Jenifer Shaw (Helendale, Calif.) cracked her team-leading second home run of the year with a solo shot to lead off the sixth inning.  Senior first baseman Carolina Olivares (Adelanto, Calif.) added a single for the Roos and sophomore Tina DeLuca (Fresh Meadows, N.Y.) had one strikeout and allowed 11 hits in six innings on the mound.

In game two, the Roos (1-9) built a 4-1 lead after four innings with a three-run second inning.  The Celtics rallied with back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull out the win.

Freshmen Lyndsay Coppola (Lindenhurst, N.Y.) and Emiley Walters (Lancaster, N.Y.) each had a double and a single to lead the Roos at the plate.  Olivares stroked a pair of singles and drove in two runs, and freshman Jessica Measheaw (Hammond, N.Y.) surrendered eight hits and had one strikeout on the mound.

Shelby Rodgers blasted two home runs in the nightcap and Jessica Kemock had a home run in each game for the Celtics.

SUNY Canton will complete their Pittsburgh swing on Sunday when they play Point Park University in a doubleheader starting at 12 noon.
