POTSDAM -- SUNY Potsdam junior Caitlin Titus has been named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Defensive Player of the Week in women's soccer for the week ending Sept. 12.
Titus, a goalkeeper, was also named State University of New York Athletic Conference Player of the Week for her accomplishments in two Bears victories last week.
The Jamesville, N.Y., native recorded her second career solo shutout in Potsdam's 1-0 victory over Sage on Saturday. Titus combined with teammate Kim Callahan on Sept. 7 in a 3-0 triumph against Wells.
In 225 minutes of play through games of Sept. 12, Titus had yet to allow a goal.
Her awards from both the SUNYAC and ECAC are the first of any such accolade a Potsdam student-athlete has received this season in any sport.
On Wednesday, Titus posted her third shutout of the season in the Bears' 3-0 victory over Cazenovia.
Potsdam, which is now 6-1 in the 2010 season, will play at Maritime this Friday at 7 p.m.
