For the fourth time this year, freshman John Coleman (Potsdam, NY) of the Clarkson University Men’s Basketball team was selected as the Liberty League Rookie of the Week after averaging 16 points per game over the course of three contests in the past seven days.
Coleman averaged 16.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists during a 2-1 week for the Golden Knights. For the week he shot 82.8 percent (24-for-29) from the field, including an 11-for-13 performance that netted a team-best 22 points against Rensselaer on Saturday. It was his third 20-point game of the season and was just one point shy of his career-high.
For the season, Coleman ranks in the top 10 in the Liberty League in scoring (14.7 ppg), rebounding (7.1 rpg), assists (3.1 apg), blocks (0.8 bpg) and assists/turnover ratio (47-19). He leads the conference in offensive rebounds (57) and leads the league while ranking second in the nation in field goal percentage (69.8%).
