AKWESASNE -- The 2011 racing season at Mohawk International Raceway will come to an end next weekend as the DIRTcar Series for all major classes highlight a busy weekend.

The schedule includes Series events for Big Block Modified, Small Block Modifieds, Sportsman, Pro Stocks as well as an open Bandit race, Mod Lites and CRSA Sprint Cars. The final event of the year will be our annual 100 lap Ironman Slick Enduro.

On Friday, September 16, 222's/Tomohawk Tobacco presents the 75 lap Mr. DIRTcar 358 Modified Series along with the Mr. DIRTcar Sportsman Series. The Bandit division will also be on hand for their final event of the season with an open event, plus the Mod Lites.

Local star Carey Terrance currently trails Danny O'Brien by just 20 points in the chase for the elusive Mr. DIRTcar Small Block championship.

Tim Sears Jr., Josh VanBrocklin and Justin Wright currently lead the way in the DIRTcar Sportsman standings. Racing action will get underway at 7:45PM.

Twin Leaf/Jreck Subs presents the Big Block Modifieds on Saturday night as they invade Mohawk Raceway with their Super DIRTcar Series. The Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stocks are also on the action packed schedule for the night along with the CSRA Sprint Cars and the Mod Lites.

Matt Sheppard, Billy Decker, Brett Hearn and the rest of the top stars of the Super DIRTcar Series will be in attendance.

Joey Ladouceur currently sits at the top of the standing in the battle for the Mr. DIRTcar Pro Stock championship. Racing gets underway at 7:45p.m. With the Mod Lites on the schedule for both Friday and Saturday night, it is expected that many out of town cars will travel to MIR this weekend. The 2011 racing season will conclude on Sunday, September 18th as Twin Leaf/Jreck Subs present the annual 100 lap Ironman Slick Enduro takes to the track. Registration for the Enduro is open and registration forms are available on the front page of our website.

General Admission is $25 for each race night, and children under the age of 12 are free when accompanied by an adult. Weekend passes for all three days are available.

Mohawk International Raceway is located midway between the Seaway International Bridge to Cornwall, ONT and the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino. From Route 37, turn south onto Frogtown Road.

Racing is held on Friday nights at 7:45 PM from May through September, featuring the Frenchie's Chevrolet DIRTcar 358 Modifieds, Sportsman and Pro Stocks, as well as the Bandit division.
