Sunday River, ME - Once again, seniors Jill Clevenger (LaGrangeville, NY) and Sophie LeBlanc (Cumberland, ME) paced the Clarkson University Women's Alpine Ski team as it closed out the season with a fifth place finish in the slalom Friday afternoon at the USCSA National Championships.
The Golden Knights' women completed the championships with their best ever finish, posting a fourth-place showing in the giant slalom before the fifth-place spot in the slalom.
Clevenger had the top spot for the Knights on Friday, finishing the slalom in 18th place overall among the 100 skiers with a time of 1:53.68. Her classmate, LeBlanc, took 23rd with in 1:54.72, as both seniors posted consistent runs down the hill. Sophomore Sarah Shafer (Petoskey, MI) rounded out the scoring times for the Knights by taking 30th place in 1:58.88. Freshmen Hailey Gilmore (Woodbury, CT) took 52nd overall in 2:07.53 and classmate Mycala Stebbins (Canandaigua, NY) came in 80th with a time of 2:36.72.
