Annandale-on-Hudson, NY - With a dominating effort in the second half, the Clarkson University Men's Soccer team deposited two shots into its opponent's goal to pick up a 2-0 Liberty League victory over Bard College Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Knights improved to 4-6-1 overall and 2-1-0 in the conference, while the Raptors fell to 3-8-0 and 0-3-0. Clarkson will visit RIT next Saturday in another Liberty League match up.

Following a scoreless first half in which the Knights enjoyed a 10-4 advantage in shots, Clarkson poured on the pressure in out shooting the Raptors 13-2 over the final 45 minutes. However, the Knights couldn't get on the scoreboard until the 62nd minute when freshman Trevor Blackwell (Pittsford, NY) was able to convert off a Clarkson corner kick. Sophomore Jacob Duff (Lebanon, CT) sent the corner into the penalty area where another Golden Knights got tangled with Bard keeper Deven Connelly, allowing Blackwell to get loose to score his second goal of the season at 63:03.

The Golden Knights picked up an insurance goal 18 minutes later as senior Jon Gacioch (Palmyra, NY) scored his first career goal. Classmate Tobin Boomer (Louisville, KY) was able to find Gacioch in front, who was all alone with the Bard keeper at the 6-yard marker and tallied the insurance goal at 81:08.

Clarkson finished the game with a 23-6 advantage in shots and an 8-3 lead in corner kick opportunities. Connelly finished with six saves for Bard College, while junior Saverino Spagnolo (Ottawa, ONT) needed to make just one stop for the shutout.
