Ibrahim is a Canadian saxophonist based in West Virginia and New York. His performances of concertos, recital repertoire and new music have attracted much attention in North America and Europe. Ibrahim will perform GĂ©rard Grisey's "Anubis et nout" on bass saxophone. He will also present Adam Mirza's 2010 composition, "Body-Process: (Ritual)," on tenor saxophone and Robin Hoffman's 2005 work, "Birkhahn-Studie," written as a solo piece using the hunting pipe as an instrument.
The concert will conclude with Karlheinz Stockhausen's "Edentia" for soprano saxophone and electronic music.
