Schenectady, NY - Junior Felix Llanos (Queens, NY) led a strong second-half effort by the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team as the Golden Knights outscored Union College by 20 in the second half to earn a 66-55 victory Friday night.

The Golden Knights evened their overall mark to 12-12 and moved to 4-9 in Liberty League contests, while Union dropped to 10-14 and 2-11. Clarkson closes out the regular season against Skidmore College on Saturday afternoon.

Clarkson struggled mightily coming out of the gate, trailing by seven points in the first three minutes, and Union held the Knights to juts 10 points in the first 13 minutes. An 8-0 run brought Clarkson back into the game, but the Dutchmen capped off the half with a 3-pointer from Drew Goldstein in the waning seconds to take a nine-point advantage, 31-22, into the locker room.

The Knights shot just 28.1 percent (9-for-32) from the field and made only two 3-pointers in the first half, while Union made 50 percent of its attempts and held a 22-15 edge in rebounds.

The second half proved to be entirely different for Clarkson, as the Knights shot 56.5 percent (13-for-23). The first few minutes mirrored the first half as the Knights fell behind by 11 points, but Clarkson ran off a 15-4 run over the course of five minutes to tie the game 40-40 with 11:06 remaining. Union held tight for the next three-plus minutes, but a 3-pointer from Rey Jefferson (Budd Lake, NJ) sparked another run by Clarkson as the Knights went on a 14-2 run to put the game out of reach.

Llanos scored a game-high 18 points, including four of his five 3-point field goals in the second half, and added in four assists. Freshman Nate Uline (Gansevoort, NY) contributed 12 points, shooting 5-for-8 from the floor, and Jefferson tossed in 11 points. Goldstein finished with 15 points for Union and Keith Callies added 11 points on 4-for-5 shooting, including three 3-point field goals.
