Senior pitcher Chris Cook pitched a complete game six-hitter as St. Lawrence University's baseball team won its second straight with a 3-2 win over Otterbein in Florida on Thursday.

Cook walked one and struck out six, allowing one earned run as the Saints came from a 2-1 deficit with two runs in the top of the sixth to win the game. SLU, now 2-4, will conclude their southern trip with games against Nichols on Friday and North Park on Saturday.

Otterbein took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first, but the Saint came  back to tie in the top of the second when Matt DeLuca walked, and Jeff Kott and Zane Fish were each hit by a pitch. Bryan Brennan grounded into a double play, but DeLuca scored the tying run on the ground out.

Otterbein regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth with an unearned run, but the Saints came back with the winning rally in the top of the sixth. Paul Piatelli started the inning with a double to left center and moved to third on a ground out. Kirk Shimkin walked and Kott reached on a fielder's choice, Shimkin safe at second on a throwing error with Piatelli scoring to tie the game. Brennan's fielder's choice brought home Shimkin to win the game.

Cook did not allow a base runner the rest of the way to lock up the win and closed it with a flourish, striking out all three batters he faced in the bottom of the ninth.

Nichols College snapped a 2-2 tie with four runs in the bottom of the fourth and went on to a 9-3 win over St. Lawrence in a game in Florida on Friday. Pat Considine took the loss for the Saints, pitching six innings and allowing six runs, five earned. He struck out seven and walked four in his second stint of the spring trip. Carter Franz and Matt DeLuca each had a pair of hits for the Saints while Tyler Engle drove in all three runs, two of them with a fourth inning double. The Saints conclude their southern trip with a game against North Park Saturday morning.
