The Clarkson University Nordic Ski team started off the 2012 season in the same fashion that it ended it last year by sweeping both of the men's and women's races at the Army Invitational held this past Saturday and Sunday at the Ethan Allen Biathlon Center in Jericho, VT.
Saturday's race was a 10k Skate individual start with Golden Knight senior Alyssa Dausman (Syracuse, NY) winning the women’s race with a time of 30:14. Sunday's 10k Classic mass start was a Clarkson sweep with Alyssa Dausman finishing first in the women's event (38:34) and senior Alex Benway (Queensbury, NY) winning for the men (29:12).
In the women's 10k Skate, Clarkson placed the top four skiers. Following Dausman's first place time were, seniors Andrea Walsh (Underhill Center, VT) (32:53) and Emily Garrant (Marcellus, NY) (33:02) and junior Rachel Bachman (Queensbury, NY) (34:08).
The top four women's racers in the 10k classic were also Alyssa Dausman, Walsh (38:44), Garrant (38:48) and Bachman (40:02)
