The Golden Knights put in a dominant showing at the West Point Invitational as the Clarkson University Nordic Ski team won the two-day event, held on Saturday and Sunday, February 5-6 at the Ethan Allen Biathlon Center in Jericho, VT.

The Golden Knight Men, led by junior Alex Benway (Queensbury, NY), won both the 15k skate and the 10k classic in convincing fashion. Benway won the skate race with a time of 42:39 and was first in the classic event with a time of 36:14.

Freshman Nick Marshall (Huntington, VT) placed second in both events, with a time of 45:02 in Saturday’s skate race, and a 37:28 mark in the classic race on Sunday. Sophomore Andrew Klem (Dalton, MA) finished fourth (45:21) in the skate, while junior Tim Sick (Chambersburg, PA) came in fourth (38:21) in the classic.

The Clarkson Women overwhelmed the field in their events, placing the top four skiers in both races.

Junior Alyssa Dausman (Syracuse, NY) won the 15k skate race with a time of 52:53. Junior Andrea Walsh (Underhill Center, VT) placed second (54:14), followed by classmate Emily Garrant (Marcellus, NY) in third (54:24). Sophomore Rachel Bachman (Queensbury, NY) finished fourth (54:51).

On Sunday, in the 10k classic, Walsh led the way with a first-place time of 46:18. Dausman (46:29), Garrant (46:41) and Bachman (48:57), followed in second, third and fourth, respectively.
