After a one year hiatus, the North Country Invitational is back and will be hosted by the Clarkson University Men's Basketball team at Alumni Gymnasium this weekend with the Golden Knights facing SUNY Canton at 6:00 pm. The College of St. Joseph will take on Potsdam State at 8:00 pm.
The winners of the games on Friday will play in the championship game at 3:00 pm on Saturday, while the two that come up short will play in the consolation game, starting at 1:00 pm.
The North Country Invitational began in the 1997-98 season and was held at St. Lawrence in the initial incarnation. Since, Clarkson and Potsdam State had alternated as hosts through the 2008-09 campaign before skipping the tournament last season.
The Golden Knights, who went 14-11 last year and narrowly missed their fourth consecutive post-season berth, started the season off with a victory on Monday when they defeated Morrisville State 78-67.
