Goals were hard to come by for Clarkson on Friday night at Cheel Arena, but the Golden Knights scored just enough to earn a 2-1 ECAC Hockey victory over Princeton.

Ranked 7/8th in the national polls, the Golden Knights are now 7-1-1 since mid-November and improved to 14-4-2 overall. Clarkson, which hosts a red-hot Quinnipiac squad on Saturday, is tied for first in the 12-team ECAC Hockey standings, along with Cornell, owning an 8-2 league mark.

Back in the lineup after being a healthy scratch the past two games, sophomore Adam Tisdale (Cochrane, ALB) came through with the deciding goal midway through the third period. Tisdale connected for his third goal of the season and first career game-winner at 9:17, finishing off a pass in front by senior defenseman Jordan Schneider (Toronto, ONT) while on a delayed penalty. Senior Haralds Egle (Liepaia, Latvia) started the play with hard work down load to free the puck to Schneider in the corner.

The Knights, who have scored the opening goal in 12 of 20 games, went on top early when Egle fired in a hard shot from the top of the right circle for his team-high ninth goal of the season, a power-play marker at 9:39 of the first. Junior Jack Jacome (Caledon, ONT) and sophomore Josh Dunne (O'Fallon, MO) assisted.

Princeton (2-12-4, 0-8-3) tied the game late in the middle frame on a goal by Liam Grande at 17:16.

Clarkson outshot the Tigers 34-24. Frank Marotte (Longueuil, QUE), the Knights' graduate transfer in the crease, posted 23 saves. Jeremie Forget posted 32 for Princeton.

The Green and Gold went 1-of-5 on the power play and held the Tigers scoreless on their three man-advantage chances. The Knights have now killed off all 12 of the opponents' power plays in 2020.
