Potsdam, NY - Junior Mike Rowe (Glenville, NY) won a pair of individual events to highlight the Clarkson University Swimming team's day in a dual meet against crosstown rival Potsdam State, as the Bears defeated the men 126-111 and the women 106-101 Friday afternoon at Maxcy Hall.
Rowe claimed his victories in the 100 backstroke (56.02 seconds) and the 200 freestyle (1:51.66). The only other individual winner on the men's side was Bob Stevens (Lakewood, NY), who took first in the 100 butterfly in 56.13. Clarkson's 200 freestyle relay also touched the pad first in 1:34.09, with Aaron Kreher (Clarence, NY), Nick Clemens (Lowville, NY), Kane Streichert (Norwich, NY) and Mitchell Maciuba (Clarence, NY) making up the four-man squad.
On the women's side, three individuals won their events. Senior Nikki Pera (Jamison, PA) came in first in the 100 backstroke in 1:07.27, sophomore Colleen Daly (Manlius, NY) finished as the top swimmer in the 1000 freestyle (11:59.70), and junior Emma Bonan (Queensbury, NY) was the best swimmer in the 200 freestyle, taking first in 2:07.13.
