Sophomore Aimee Caligiore shot rounds of 78 and 82 and recorded her fourth top ten finish in as many outings to lead St. Lawrence University's women's golf team to a third place finish in the Martin and Wallace Invitational hosted by Cortland.
Caligiore's opening round 78 tied for the third best score in the opening round of the tournament.
Methodist University, which has won the last 13 straight NCAA Division III women's championships, won the tournament on the par-72, 5814 yard Cortland Country Club course shooting 313-308 for a 621 total. New York University was second at 651 with the Saints shooting 345-336 for a 681 total and a ten stroke advantage on host Cortland which was fourth in the ten team field.
Alair Muzzatti shot rounds of 86 and 84 for a 170 total and tied for 15th in the 51-player field, while Melissa Snizek shot 90-84 for a 174 and a 21st place finish and Kerrin Ehrensbeck shot 91-86 for a 177 and a 23rd place finish.
St. Lawrence, which ranks 10th nationally in Division III in the Golfstat rankings will play its final fall event of the year when it plays at the ECAC Championships in Rochester Saturday and Sunday.
