The St. Lawrence University women's crew team, ranked 13th in the first Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) regular-season poll, kicked off its 2012 spring season against RIT on Saturday. The Saints swept both events on the Genesee River as the 1V and 2V both took home the gold on the weekend.

The 1V negotiated the 1700 meter course in 6:19.5, topping the Tigers who finished in 6:23.3. Jenette Kloss stroked and Tori Vossler was the coxswain, while Jesse Burdett, Maddy Fones, Amanda Brewer, Sally Dankner, Alissa McCaffrey, Maggie Fellows and Bri Tidd also helped power the Saints.

The Scarlet and Brown earned the sweep as the 2V finished in a time of 6:42.2, well ahead of RIT who crossed in 6:58.7. Jeannine Condon stroked and Amy Yao was the coxswain, while Liz Weber, Kat Lukens, Daniela Stokes, Abbie McIvor, Emily Hutchinson, Kelly Bartlett and Helen Aufderheide also rowed for the Saints.

The Saints will travel to Ithaca, NY on April 14 to take on #6 Ithaca College.
