POTSDAM — A Potsdam man has been charged with driving while intoxicated after Sheriff’s Deputies made a traffic stop in the town of Potsdam on March 16.

Deputies say John L. Hayes, 50, was found to be operating a vehicle while intoxicated after a traffic stop on Lawrence Ave.

Hayes was charged with first-offense driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right as a result of the incident.

Hayes was issued appearance tickets for the town of Potsdam for a later date.

Deputies were assisted by Potsdam Police.
