Ogdensburg resident faces drug charges following traffic stop in Canton

CANTON — Canton and Ogdensburg residents were charged following a traffic stop on SH 310 July 14, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.

Elizabeth A. Briggs, 29, Canton was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, officers said.

A backseat passenger, Travis G. England, 26, Ogdensburg, was arrested on a warrant from state police in Clifton Park, deputies said.

A search of England turned up a loaded hypodermic needle that contained a controlled substance, officers said.

He was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic needle, deputies said.

Deputies did not report his arrest status.
