OGDENSBURG – Ogdensburg Mayor Jeffrey M. Skelly has once again been charged with providing two false written statements, according to St. Lawrence County Sheriff's Deputies.
Skelly was initially charged on Aug. 23 for an incident that occurred in November of 2021.
Skelly had accused retired Ogdensburg Firefighter Gerald Mack of slashing his tires. Mack was charged with stalking and criminal mischief, but the charges were tossed out by a judge at the prosecutor's reccomendation.
In September an attorney for Skelly argued that the case was being tried in the wrong court.
The judge agreed and told deputies that they would need to refile the charges.
Skelly was charged again on Sept. 23. This time he’s set to appear in Ogdensburg court for the charges on Oct. 18.
