Norfolk man charged with menacing with bb gun

NORFOLK -- Larry Goodspeed, 23, of Norfolk, was charged June 30 by Norfolk town police with second-degree menacing.

Police said the incident occurred on Hepburn Street when a complaint was made that a male was outside his residence with a gun and threatening people.

The county sheriff’s office, state police, Norwood village police all responded to the call with Norfolk town police. Goodspeed was located and taken into custody.

The weapon used was located in his residence and turned out to be a bb gun.

Allegedly Goodspeed exited his residence with the bb gun after being chased inside by a neighbor.

Goodspeed threatened to use the weapon on a female victim, police said.

He was arraigned in front of Judge Wilcox of Norfolk town court.

An order of protection was issued to protect the victim and Goodspeed was given a return court date.

Norfolk town police are still investigating the incident.
