Hogansburg woman facing drug charges at border

MASSENA -- On April 20, 2019, at approximately 10:39 p.m., state police responded to the Port of Entry, the border crossing in the town of Massena, for a report of drug possession.

United States Customs and Border Patrol officer told state police that motorist Devon V. Oakes, 27, Hogansburg, entered the border station at approximately 8:40 p.m. and was found in possession of a quantity of morphine, cocaine, and Suboxone strips.

Oakes was arrested and charged with three counts of seventh-dgree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of the New York State Public Health Law violation of prescription outside of its original container.

She was issued an appearance ticket returnable to Massena Town Court.
