FINE — A Harrisville man has been charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop.
Travis L. Berkley, 33, was allegedly operating a motor vehicle while impaired on drugs, state police say.
According to state police, Berkley was traveling on Route 3 on Jan. 26 in the town of Fine when troopers saw his 2002 white and black Subaru with a license plate covered.
Troopers say he was familiar to the trooper who made the stop. The trooper then allegedly initiated a traffic stop and interviewed Berkley, who showed signs of drug impairment and was in charge of drug paraphernalia, police say.
Berkley was then arrested after failing a field sobriety test, troopers say.
Berkley was released on appearance tickets returnable to Town of Fine Court for a later date in February.
