Gouverneur man charged by state police for driving while impaired by drugs

ROSSIE – A Gouverneur man has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired with drugs.
Zachary M. Wicks, 23, was observed traveling on U.S. Highway 11 on Feb. 1 around 9:40 p.m. when state police observed he was driving with no passenger headlight, police say.A traffic stop and interview ensued, at which time Wicks was identified and observed to be under the influence of drugs, police say.
Wicks was subsequently arrested for failing a field sobriety test before being transported to SP Gouverneur for processing.
Wicks was released on tickets for operating a motor vehicle while impaired with drugs, no headlight and unsafe tires.
All tickets are returnable to the Town of Rossie Court in March.
