64-year-old bicyclist arrested in Norfolk for resisting arrest, riding bike on highway
NORFOLK -- Michael Bregg, 64, of Norfolk was charged June 24 by Norfolk police with second-degree harassment, resisting arrest, and operating a bicycle on the highway.
Norfolk town police said they received a complaint that a male driving a bicycle on State Highway 56 was creating a hazard. Police located the bicycle and Bregg at his residence.When an officer questioned Bregg about riding his bicycle on the highway Bregg became agitated and grabbed the officer by the throat, police said.
The officer was able to take Bregg into custody after a brief struggle.
He was issued appearance tickets and to return to Norfolk town court at a later date.
