To the Editor:

It truly amazes me, that our Governor would appoint someone as a County Clerk that was so unqualified! Serving on the Town’s Comprehensive Planning Board, Chairman of Democratic Committee, President of Potsdam Junior Hockey Association and Manager of the U.S. Women’s Olympic hockey team in 2006 are not qualifications for a county clerk!

I don’t see anything that makes Mr. Regan qualified as County Clerk or even qualified in the running of a motor vehicle department. “hockey manager” maybe!

The firing of acting county clerk so fast tells me it was premeditated! What a callous act! If I were a woman working under you, I would view you as a “woman beater” and a “woman basher”. For someone that had NO clue of what was going on, in the first couple of hours, on his first day in the County Clerk’s office, Mary Lou would have been like a lifeline. You knew you needed her gone, because she would be a threat to you at election time. One thing about it, you showed your true colors! I’ll bet you wait for a woman to open the doors for you right?

I still think you have a fox or two in the hen house with you, you’re not that smart, to keep changing your story of all the reasons why you fired Mary Lou Rupp! How unprofessional, if it wasn’t a case of premeditated firing, then what was it? You didn’t need to beat Mary Lou into the ground on your first day!

Mr. Regan, you couldn’t even muster enough votes to get elected County Legislator in 2002 or 2010. The voters knew you had NO qualifications! My advice to you is “Keep a life jacket near by, your ship is slowly sinking, at this time you’re just bailing water, while trying to correct what’s coming out of your mouth.” Every time you speak you give a new reason for stomping on her! Your boat will sink fast at election time, when the big wave comes in (The Voters “TSUNAMI”) because we as voters won’t forget!

I strongly suggest taxpayers to write their Governor, Andrew M. Cuomo’s Office at the Capitol Building, Albany, New York 12224 requesting Mr. Regan be removed from his appointment as St. Lawrence County Clerk. When you act like a “Bully” you should be treated like a bully!
