Recently the local Adopt-A-Highway Program worked at picking up litter on Rt. 37 in Massena. This group of hard workers is sponsored by St. Lawrence Valley Hospice. Kudos to these workers who did a good job! It is not an easy task in hot temps or inclement weather.
I’d like to take this time to say thanks to the woman motorist who stopped and offered water to one of the workers. Also, a thank you to the supervisor at Burger King who donated tickets for free ice cream to all of the group.
A special thanks goes to the owner of Italian Affair and the waitresses. Free pizza and soda were donated by Italian Affair and was appreciated greatly after a hot day.
This just goes to show that individuals and businesses are still very willing to help those who help the community.
We can however, still use the help of volunteers on our next outing at the end of September. It you are willing to help, please call 315-764-0343.
