To the Editor:
I commend the Committee on Dissolution. I have been impressed by their diligence and thorough review.
If the village does dissolve, many of their suggestions (on the website) can still be implemented to increase revenues for our area.
I hear talk about combining services. If we do that, what is the sense of having two layers of government?
I am concerned when I hear our representatives say “…well, we don’t know if we can provide services if the village dissolves...” Tsk! It is up to the government to make sure services are provided for the people the government represents. Most of the town is the population of the village.
What are we to name our “new entity?” Town of Potsdam? Village of Potsdam?
How about People of Potsdam.
