To the Editor:
Before we get in an uproar about bird deaths due to wind turbines (Sound Off, Dec. 12, 'Wind Turbines Caused Senseless Deaths of Geese), perhaps we should look up the Fish and Wildlife statistics on causes of bird deaths.
Bird crashes into buildings are estimated to cause well over 97 million bird deaths a year, for example; perhaps as many as 10 times that.
Estimated bird deaths attributed to wind farms: 33,000. Should we ban all future buildings? Tear down all existing buildings and relocate underground?
