To the Editor:
Do you know a veteran who continues serving fellow veterans and their community? I’d like you to help me show our appreciation by nominating them to the New York State Senate’s Veterans Hall of Fame.
This on-line Hall of Fame pays tribute to New Yorkers whose gallantry in the US Armed Forces is complemented by their service to the community.
The Senate will honor distinguished veterans from throughout the state at a June 14th Albany ceremony, where each honoree’s photograph and biography will become part of a special on-line exhibit proclaiming the contributions of these exemplary men and women.
The New York State Senate Veterans' Hall of Fame was created to honor and recognize outstanding veterans from the Empire State who have distinguished themselves both in military and civilian life. Their meritorious service to our nation deserves the special recognition that only a Hall of Fame can provide, as a fitting expression of our gratitude and admiration.
Last year, I honored Oswego’s Battle of the Bulge Veterans Association, a unique group of veterans who today keep alive the memories of a group of soldiers who helped turn the tide at a crucial moment of WW II and literally helped save the world.
Help me honor the veterans who do so much to help their fellow veterans and the communities where they live.
Nomination forms are available on my website, www.ritchie.nysenate.gov <http://www.ritchie.nysenate.gov/> , or can be obtained by contacting my office at 782-3418.
