POTSDAM — The town board here has approved several amendments to its code regarding appointments to the town planning board.
The board passed a resolution making the changes after a public hearing at its regular meeting Tuesday, June 8.
The amendments to Chapter 51 of the Potsdam Town Code reduced the Planning Board roster from 7 to 5 members and allow an annual appointment of the Zoning and Planning Board Chairs.
The new amendments to the code, which will take effect after the local law is filed with the Secretary of State, will allow the town board to appoint chairpersons to the two boards annually.
The boards themselves will have the power to designate an acting chairperson in the event of the appointed chair’s absence.
