Poem seeks ‘Justice for Garrett’

Posted

To the Editor:

Drive along any North Country Road

Signs in yards -- “for sale” & “sold”

See a new sign -- but don’t understand it

They just can’t find justice for Garrett

Smiling face on a boy -- only 12 years old

Yard signs, but angry protestors don’t hold

“Worried in Potsdam,” “Killer runs rampant”

They just can’t find justice for Garrett

Everyone looks at everyone in town

Donations made -- cash reward if found

Guilty, who is hiding in a hole like a rabbit

They just can’t find justice for Garrett

The village has no answer -- mystery unsolved

While kids in middle school have it all figured out

Police have no clue, so they say “grin & bear it”

Cuz’ they just can’t find justice for Garrett

At the V.F.W veterans and friends sing out

Over the din, some know the time to shout

Crank the stereo, appoint speakers & blare it

Now we must find justice for Garrett.

Marc Porcaro, Potsdam
