To the Editor:
Recently I have seen a couple of signs or banners displayed around this area that I find offensive. They proclaim “F--- Biden” – only with the word written out in full. I’m sure I would have been just as offended if the name Trump had been used instead of Biden. Whatever lustful desires the people posting such signs have for the president is their business, but I don’t think they need to post them in coarse, obscene language for the world to see.
If the owner of one of these signs is reading this, he (or she) is probably thinking, “It’s my property; I can post whatever I want on it.”
My response is, yes, you probably can if you are sure that the impression you want to give is that you are rude, vulgar, and disrespectful, as well as inconsiderate of children who may read it as they pass by or of their parents who are trying to teach them what kind of language is appropriate to use in public discourse, and if you want people thinking that this is the limit of vocabulary you have to express your disapproval of the president.
