To the Editor:
When exactly does criticism become hate speech? I find it hard to understand Ms Hodges’ logic when I read the same mantra of “criticism” she describes over and over.
Mom didn’t hate me when she punished me but, more than once, she would say “if they jumped off a bridge, would you?”
I don’t care if you like conservative principles and beliefs, or not. Don’t care if you like Trump or not. But calling his followers racist, bigoted, rude and any other adjective from your playbook, sounds a lot more like contempt than criticism. If you do not believe that there is only one true God, I suspect that you might be in a minority of Democrats.
I think that Ms Hodges and Mr Shirtz are on the right track when they recommend "dropping" the discussion of Trump. I am anxious to read a response to Mr Shirtz suggestion about focusing attention to the current administration. I also would like to stop blaming "all Dems." I know that people on both sides of the isle feel the effects. I'm hoping to read equal "criticism" to his list.
Nothing "Liberal" about it.
