To the Editor:

The anecdote of our American Dream in our politics is like Rizal's story about the Monkey and the Turtle. As the November election 2022 is approaching you cannot believe it is apparently happening in our great Society.

0ne day the Turtle invited the Monkey who came from Delaware into his home near the river of New York city. Beside the river there was a Banana tree, its fruit was yellow and ready to eat.

The Turtle said: "Can you climb my banana tree and take 2 or 3 ripe fruits and we enjoy and eat together." "No problem," The Monkey said. But when Mr. Monkey was up on the tree and he started eating the ripe fruit one after the other. The Turtle asked him:

"Can you throw one for me? I'm hungry." The Monkey laughed and instead he threw the banana piles on his face. The Turtle got angry and furious. While the Monkey was busy eating, the Turtle put thorns around the Banana tree so that when the Monkey came down he got punctured in every move he made going down.

The Monkey got upset. And angry he picked up the Turtle and he said, "I will drop you into the fire."And the Turtle said, "Thank you. I will become red and beautiful." The Monkey countered, "I'll throw you into the river." The Turtle pleaded, "0h no, please I'll drown and die."

And so the Monkey threw him into the river and the Turtle floated and shouted back, "Thank you. This is my 2nd home." The Monkey was so mad that he jumped into the river to kill the Turtle.

But the Monkey did not know how to swim so instead he drowned and died. Now who is the Turtle and the Monkey in our Government today? Your decision will decide, it seems to continue the open border of our fast kind of banana republic after this coming November election.
