In response to the student protest held at Potsdam Central concerning climate change; which happened on a Friday school day at a taxpayer-funded event.
Would these same students “sacrifice their day off on Saturday” to protest? If they decided to give up their Saturday, would mom and dad drive them to the protest sight instead of free bus rides supplied by school district taxpayers?
I support discussions concerning climate change. I do not support a one-day protest on this topic on a school day. These students got their fifteen minutes of fame. Now it’s time for them to prove their cause.
I hope to see these same protesters picking up the area roadsides. Don’t forget to volunteer at your neighborhood recycling centers organized many years ago and run by mostly people 60 years and older.
Young high school protesters; you’ve stepped up to the plate to be heard. Now prove your cause.
