My wife and I are writing in support of Brian Kirby, who, yes, is a relative. And yes, we do not live in the Ogdensburg area any more but still have many relatives and connections in the area.
We would ask that all our friends, relatives and supporters of Brian (throughout the greater Ogdensburg area) unite behind him so he keeps his job.
If it means boycotting business, contacting county or state representatives or supportive and respectful letters to Ogdensburg leaders, I think that would be appropriate.
We do listen to the council meetings occasionally and as was mentioned the savings from cuts to the fire department is a minor amount per day.
Before residents jump to the happiness of the savings, check with your homeowner's or renter’s insurance company to see what actions taken by Ogdensburg leaders will have on your bill.
