Apparently we want our kids to be literate -- but not “too” literate. We want them to have an understanding of U.S. history, but not “too” much comprehension of it.

We want them to ask questions -- but not “too” many (and only certain ones).

We want our teachers to teach our kids to think -- but not “too” much least they break the “groan-up’s” brains.

Otherwise they’re just going to have to go back to where they came from: Your neighbor’s house.
