It was discouraging, if not depressing, to read Elise Stefanik’s response to the Green New Deal, as expressed by her communications director, Maddie Anderson.
That Stefanik may not agree with proposals outlined in the Green New Deal is fine. But to outright lie about the content of those proposals in not okay. Describing the proposals as “eliminating air travel, knocking down every building in the country, massively reducing dairy and beef consumption,” are irresponsible falsehoods.
How can a very real problem be solved when Stefanik chooses to treat her colleagues with such disrespect? How can a very real problem be solved when Stefanik chooses to disseminate false information to her constituents?
