To the Editor:
My wife and I heartily agree with Mr. James Calipari’s letter (May 15 titled Opinion: Former Potsdam resident views toilets as an act of disrespect) decrying the ongoing display of toilet art in Potsdam. Mr. Robar, you made your point. You won your suit, and profited from your right to free expression.
You earned your eternal legacy in the history of our county, standing up to the establishment and winning. Could you please now remove your toilet art that’s long past its expiration date being funny and as a symbol of protest?
If you care at all about the Potsdam community, and St. Lawrence county’s image, please stop.
We’re tired of being the butt of your ongoing joke. We don't want to be forever labeled the Rodney Dangerfield of New York who "can't get no respect" as a result of such a low-brow display.
Give us a break, and you will receive our appreciation for knowing when to quit.
