The St. Lawrence County Democratic Committee might want to move on from attacking Congresswoman Elise Stefanik for her support of President Donald Trump during the impeachment hearings. The general public is not interested in all of the political posturing, particularly when they perceive it to be unwarranted and unfair.
It is difficult to take their criticism of Congresswoman Stefanik as anything but political when they ignore the role of former Vice President Biden in the Burisma investigation.
Burisma is a Ukrainian national gas company which employed Vice President Biden’s son, Hunter, at a salary of $50,000 per month.
Burisma was under investigation when Biden was handling the U.S.-Ukraine policy. One only has to Google Vice President Biden, Hunter Biden, and Burisma to hear audio of the former vice president explaining how he threatened to withhold $1 billion in U.S. loans if the Ukraine government did not fire the prosecutor investigating Burisma.
Given the fiasco of the impeachment hearings, many would argue that the economy will probably be the biggest factor the American voter will consider when going to the polls. Voters need to know that they have a job, can put a roof over their head, feed their family, pay their bills, have some extra money in their pocket and, if possible, grow their 401K so they can eventually retire.
The voters in the 21st Congressional District are smart. They will consider the job Congresswoman Stefanik has done in representing them. They will consider the job she has done in defending President Trump in what many believe to be purely politically motivated impeachment hearings.
They will consider the job President Trump has done over the last four years. They will sift through all the noise and vote accordingly in November.
