To the Editor:
I understand the concept, but not the answer of the Sustainability Committee. They want to do away with items but never, at least in this article, tell us what we are going to replace them with.
The State has already eliminated the single use plastic bag, but never asked or looked to find a recyclable bag. The alternative to plastic bottles is already present; reuse them or return them.
The problem is laziness. We cannot go back to glass. Many people already take the personal responsibility to recycle and reuse. however, there are way too many items for use in St. Lawrence county and its towns and villages and the state which you can only use so many of before you have no need and them have to put them into the garbage.
So let's work on getting the 4s and 5s into our recycle mainstream instead of our garbage mainstream.
