Recently, a crosswalk complete with signage was installed on Leroy Street at the intersection of Garden Street and adjacent to the main entrance of Potsdam High School.
A crossing guard has been stationed at the same location to assist students crossing this busy street in the morning and at dismissal.
For the many student walkers in the village this is a welcome and much appreciated addition.
Special thanks to the people who worked to get this important safety feature installed including: Joann Chambers, superintendent of Potsdam Central School; Jim Corbett, Department of Public Works and Chief Mark Murray, Potsdam Police Department.
Thank you for your willingness to address this concern and your dedication to student safety.
