Opinion: Nation needs a spiritual revival, says Hammond resident

To the Editor:

Good Friday and Easter have passed here in the U.S. and now, more than ever, our nation needs a real spiritual revival. The youth of 21st Century America are exposed to more harmful influences than any previous generation and to such an extent that their thinking has become greatly clouded.

Witness the rampant drug use, violence, on-line bullying, gender-confusion, and suicides this past year alone. Thank God for groups like Seaway Youth For Christ that offer alternative activities that will actually build up, rather than tear down, today's teens.

In a world where Satan's evil forces desire the souls of all of us it is awesome how the power of Jesus Christ, whose death on the cross and resurrection from the grave we just celebrated, can overcome the world and all the sin Satan has brought to it.

Seaway Youth For Christ holds fun nights at 7pm on the 2nd Friday of each month at the YFC Impact Center, 31 David Street, in Ogdensburg, just blocks from OFA. New YFC executive director David Tulloch has brought his energy and talents to this ministry and I encourage local teens and their parents, along with area churches and Christ-minded people of all ages to attend the next event and see how Biblical truths are timeless and the best way to raise kids.

The children are worth fighting for and with God on our side who can stand against us? You can also support YFC with a prayerful financial gift mailed to: Seaway YFC, P.O. Box 25, Brier Hill, NY 13614.

Remember: God is good, all the time.
